My mother s yesterday blood tests showed γ gt 61, sgot 49, sgpt 42 and crp 5.87, Wbc 4, tke 35, hc 39 She is 87 years old and last year she had an ercp after pancreatitis which has been caused by a spasm of bile duct without the presence of stones or anything else. Before the recent blood test yesterday she had no fever and regular blood pressure but pain in the higer part of belly for a while. What is your opinion? Thank s a lot. Rallou Greece
All the lab parameter values provided by you are within the normal range . So there shouldn't be an immediate cause of concern.
However, since your mother is complaining of pain in the higher belly I would advice you to go for a USG whole abdomen .If this turns out to be normal , then we may conclude that the pain may be due to gastritis which generally occurs high up in the belly .So we may try giving her a dose of antacid or PPI to take care of the same.
Kindly consult your treating physician and get the USG done as soon as possible to rule out any other cause.
In case the USG in inconclusive or the pain doesn't resolve, then we may consider going for a CT scan.
Please revert back with the reports. I ll be glad to evaluate further.
Thanking you,
