What Does This Blood Test Result For Excess Nose Bleeding Indicate?

My son just had lab test done due to an excessive amount of really bad nose bleeds in the past month and they are getting worse. We just got the lab results and I see that his WBC, Platelets, Lymphocite, and monocyte are all elevated to the high range. What does all of this mean? Should I be concerned? I already knew that having bad headaches and bad nosebleeds could be a sign of such problems as Leaukemia. I am worried as I just lost my husband to cancer 10 months ago.

I warmly Welcome you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic HCM.

No, only getting high white blood and other cells isn't always a cancer. Please be calm in the first place.

We have to see the peripheral blood smear picture, bone marrow aspiration cytology testing to see the blood cell types produced in the bone marrow and the types coming into the blood stream after maturation.

For cancer to be confirmed, it is also necessary to see for certain mutations and if confirmed then we may say with certainty.

It seems your son has some ongoing infection and due to that he is having high blood counts and this is not unusual in case of infections. So don't worry and get him checked by the Internal Medicine Specialist in-person for complete evaluation and treatment of the cause of bleed, the infection or other associated concerns.

Hope it helps. Feel free to contact me anytime directly from my profile if you need further assistance.

Regards!
