What Does This Blood Test Result For Persistent Cough Indicate?

i had viral fever year back and later there was continuous cough for almost 5-6 months. As suggested by doctor underwent test recommended by Pulmonologist and found all OK and said it is after effect of viral fever and advised for medicine Avesa 100 for 15 days. I got cured for few months. But now from last one month i started similar cough like and tested my blood and report says ESR level at 15mm/hr and TC at 7600. Now I request your view on my condition and oblige.

Thanks for contacting HCM with your health concern

1. If there is no response to conventional treatment then consult a Medicine Specialist since the choice of antibiotic will vary from doctor to doctor, and from locality to locality.

2. Instructions to be followed are:
. Steam water inhalations 2-3 times/day. Add to water Tincture benzoin, vicks
. Warm salt water gargles
. Take hot drinks like tea,soup,milk,coffee 5-6 times/day
. Instruct to cover the mouth while coughing (using hand or handkerchief) to prevent spread of infection to other members.

4. If infection is not controlled or there is no response, ask for investigations:
. Hb%, WBC for eosinophilia
. X-ray chest for TB, pneumonia,bronchitis.
