Hello Dr., I m 22 yrs old Male.My Brain MRI report said Small subsentimeter area of altered signal in the left high frontal region which appears iso to mildly hypointense on T1 images, mildly hypointense on T2, FLAIR images, profoundly hypointense on gradient images, is likely to suggest old calcified granuloma. I also suffers from Migraine Headaches from last 2 years! In my case, Is it serious or not! If it s serious then tell me the Treatment to cure it!
It may not need treatment, but it requires further investigations.
Granuloma is a body reaction to inflammation. It's a collection of immune cells.
Later on calcium is deposited within the granuloma. So a calcified granuloma represents an old immune reaction of the body.
This could be a result of many infections by different bacteria, viruses or parasites. It maybe a result of autoimmune reaction, most often sarcoidosis, although unlikely at your age.
The treatment depends first upon identification of the cause, and whether the granuloma is active or not.
Treatment is most likely to be medical, as the granuloma described is too small for surgical intervention. However, treatment plans and further investigations are best discussed with a specialized neurologist.
