What Does This Chest X-ray Report Indicate?

my husband had a chest xray that shows he has a prominent left hilum. He has been referred to the hospital for further tests. in the meantime is there any thing he can do to help his breathing, at times he really struggles and is very wheezy this can be just from putting his shoes on. he gets very tired and sometimes gets burning in his legs - is this all related?

Hello

Prominent left hilum may be due to many causes like enlarged lymph node, enlarged pulmonary artery, mass etc.
Your condition need clinical correlation and further tests.
You may be advised for contrast CT scan of thorax.
CT scan is very informative and it can differentiate many conditions.
Breathing problem may be related to hilum problem, however it is important to exclude other causes of wheeze like asthma.
Tiredness, burning sensation in legs are most likely not related to hilum problem.

Get well soon.
Take Care
