What Does This Chest X-ray Result After A Cardiac Arrest Indicate?

Hello,I need help regarding my husband s case...He is only 31 yrs old. He was diagnosed with Spontenous pneumothorax last 2013. Last week he got difficulty in breathing. He was put to lab test, and the doctor said he had a cardiac arrest..his xray says too that there is a suspicious density in his right lower lung field. Diaphgram is ok and no heart enlargement seen. Blood test fine..magnesium though is at 3.62. What would be the possible cause of his cardiac arrest? Is it associated with the result of the xray?

Hi,

Noted your history about your husband who suffered from Spontaneous Pneumothorax in 2013, got difficulty in breathing last week, underwent lab tests, Doctor said about cardiac arrest, X-ray shows a suspicious density in his right lower lung.
First of all there looks to be some misunderstanding that cardiac arrest has been told so. It might have been related to heart attack or so.
Most important is the suspicious shadow in right lower lung and this can be due to one of the following reasons.
Pneumonia.
Scarred lung.
Cancer.
Abscess.
This can be diagnosed in the following ways:
Clinical examination by a Doctor.
CT scan of the chest with contrast and FNAC if needed to confirm the diagnosis.
Once a proper diagnosis is done the treatment will be as per the cause found.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
