What Does This Chest X-ray Test Result Indicate?

Yes what does the following mean? A tubular airspace opacity measuring 2.0 x 1.0 cm in the inferior right upper lobe corresponding to the chest x-ray abnormality. The appearance is suggestive of postinfectious or postinflammatory etiology, however given persistence since October 2017, other process cannot be excluded.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the x ray report you have mentioned.
This report clearly suggestive of tubular opacity in right lower lobe.
This opacity is persistent since October 2017.
So possibility of fibrotic lesion due to previous lung infection (tuberculosis or pneumonia) is more likely.
In my opinion, you should get done CT thorax because CT is more informative than chest x ray.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
