What Does This Colonoscopy Report Indicate?

COLONOSCOPY REPORT SAYS A SOLITARY POLYP (10MM) SEEN IN THE SIGMOID COLON . I FEFL PAIN IN LOWER ABDOMEN. DOCTOR ADVISES TO REMOVE POLYP AFTER 6 MONTHS. PRESCRIBES - DECOLIC 1 TAB TWICE DAILY AND PROTHIADEN 50 1TAB DAILY IN EMPTY STOMAC. PLEASE TELL ME WILL I GET RELIVED FROM PAIN TILL OPERATION IS DONE?

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
What colonoscopy indicates is there is a polyp in sigmoid colon. It might be the cause for your pain as it might be having local lesions in and around the region. Hence you are getting spasms of the intestines leading to pain in the abdomen.
You can wait for 6 months as advised. Kindly take the medicatiins which would give you relief frim the problems you are facing. Do a regular follow-up with your doctor as advised.
Once the polyp matures, you can go for its removal at a later date as advised. In case it regresses by itself, you may not need surgical removal.
