My eosinophil is 8.9. I have been having a foot problem in the ball of my foot for 2 months. The dr ordered the blood tests but that is all that came back out of range.,my previous dr thought it was gout and gave me 2 prescriptions I was highly allergic to. I broke out in a red rash with bumps like measles, chills, fever. Should I be concerned about the high range of eosinophil?
Hi. As per your case history you are having allergic disorder. My advice is - 1. Eosinophils 8.9% is higher than normal range of 1-6%. 2. So you are allergic tendency. You are having more sensitivity to suffer from cough, cold, urticaria. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 30 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral diethylcarbamazine, oral hydroxyzine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
