What Does This Fasting Blood Sugar Levels And HbA1c Levels Indicate?
My mother is 67 yrs. Her Glucose , Fasting is continuously high for almost 1 year.
Below are her blood sugar fasting levels and also HbA1c levels
Nov, 2010 - 160.00 mg/dl
Dec,2010 - 137.00 mg/dl and HbA1c was 6.60%
June,2011 - 144.00 mg/dl
Dec, 2011 - 131.00 mg/dl
Jan, 2012 - 130.00 mg/dl and HbA1c is 6.00%
Kindly advise if she really has diabetes( is it type 1 or type 2 diabetes) . what treatment should she undergo.Should we approach any Endocrinologist or a family physician

For the majority of healthy individuals, normal blood sugar levels are as follows:
Normal blood glucose level in humans is about 4 mM (4 mmol/L or 72 mg/dL) When operating normally the body restores blood sugar levels to a range of 4.4 to 6.1 mmol/L (82 to 110 mg/dL) Shortly after a meal the blood glucose level may rise temporarily up to 7.8 mmol/L (140 mg/dL)
The normal HbA1c value should be The blood sugar levels you have mentioned are fluctuating and most of the time slightly higher to normal.
