What Does This Findings Of Blood Test For STD Indicate?
Hey doc, Few weeks ago I had several STD blood test The result came out, and my HSV-2 was borderline. Does that mean that the virus is really there? My obgyn said that it depends on my immune, bc there is no outbreak, even until now. I m having a mixed feeling, should I be worried? I m just afraid if I spread it to my partner. If there s no outbreak, can my partner still perform oral? Thank you.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Two types of herpes simplex virus infections can cause genital herpes: 1. HSV 1 - causes cold sores or fever blisters around your mouth, though it can be spread to your genital area during oral sex. 2. HSV 2 - commonly causes genital herpes. In this, virus spreads through sexual contact and skin-to-skin contact. HSV-2 is highly contagious, whether or not you have an open sore. Since your test indicate borderline result, it is better you avoid any form of contact with your partner, till test results prove to be negative. Get yourself tested again after a month and make sure it is negative. Hope the information provided would be useful. All the best.
