Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I am 43 yrs married lady. I have 1 kid of 13 yrs. After health check up it is found as on Uterus; Mildy bulky measuring approximately 8.6x5.6x5.2cm. Outline is regular. Normal endometrial echocomplex. There is a well defined hypoechoic lesion in the anterior wall of body measuing abt 4.4 x4.3 cm with mild vascularity. Similar lesion is noted in the posterior wall of fundus measuring about 3.2x2.0cm suggestive of intramural fibroids.
I understand your concern. From your ultrasound results it seems you have uterine fibrioids, which are basically growths that occur withing the wall of the uterus. When they are not big enough to cause pain, they can be silent and are usually accidentally discovered. They are benign and are not associated to cancer so they are not a cause for concern, unless you are trying to fall pregnant. Uterine fibroids may cause infertility, or in case a pregnancy occurs, they might cause a miscarriage. If you are trying for a pregnancy, then you should talk to your ob-gyn doctor in order to devise a treatment plan. Otherwise, there in no reason to worry.
Wishing you all the best.
