Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can you please tell me in laymen term what this means: NECK SONOGRAM FINDINGS The thyroid gland has a homogeneous parenchymal echogenicity. The isthmus measures 0.25 cm. The right lobe measures 3.7 cm x 1.1 cm x 1.3 cm. The left lobe measures 3.6 cm x 0.8 cm x 1.1 cm. Within the right thyroid lobe there is a prominent nodule. it is hypoechoic with well-defined borders and measures 0.6 cm. There are no prominent lymph nodes.
This is ultrasound of thyroid gland present in neck to look for any signs of mass or tumor inside. There is a suspected mass I side however no lymph nodes swelling etc make the possibility of a thyroid nodule or benign growth. However, it should be evaluated further with a fine needle aspiration biopsy as well as thyroid scan may be needed to evaluate whether it's a cold or a hot nodule.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
