What Does This Pregnancy Scan Report Signify?

Hello Doctor,

My is got a bleeding few drops in pink color, we consult with our doctor, they scanned and their findings below


no fetal pole
no cardiac pulsation
yolk sac seen
sac - 11 mm

they will confirm only if the heart beats

can you please clear this situation, what steps to takecare of the baby

Dear member,
Thanks for writing.
The ultrasound in early pregnancy has to show a gestational sac with a yolk sac and a fetus with cardiac activity or heart beat.
If fetus is not seen then we usually wait for a week.
In your case as you are also spotting I would advise vaginal progesterone pessary and wait for a week before you repeat the scan.
If still fetus not seen then the pregnancy is to be terminated as it's unviable.
