What Does This Result For Pelvic Sonogram Indicate?

Hi, I recently had a pelvic sonogram which showed Prominent endometrium, 16mm and prominent right ovarian follicular cyst. I have a follow up at my OBGYN s yesterday where I saw the nurse practitioner. She is sending me now for a SonoHysterogram, but would not really discuss what this could mean or what they would be looking for in the SonoHysterogram.Should I be worried? Is a SonoHysterogram typically the next step?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

Yes, a sonohysterogram can be used as the next step. The cyst found in your ovarian seems to be large, requiring attention and how much of a problem it can be depending on the possibility of it growing larger. The sonohysterogram will provide your doctors with the required information in order to decide its management.

Best wishes.
