What Does This Result From Down Syndrome Risk Screening Test Indicate?
Hi I am 25 yrs old , I underwent down s syndrome risk screening test in 20th week of pregnancy last week. I got my results as AFP value 30.5 MoM0.45 ;; fE3 2.1 MoM 1.24 ;; HCG 4389 MoM 0.43 ,, with trisomy 21 screening negative , trisomy 18 screening negative ,, neutral tube defects screening negative.. please what this means is there any kind of complication in my pregnancy ,, is my child fine ? do I need to take care of somethinf ? plesae help me?
Hi, you and your baby are absolutely fine. Negative screening is actually a good thing.It means your chances of having an abnormal baby are very very less. The common conditions we worry about that can be seen in baby are Down's syndrome (Trisomy 21),Edwards syndrome(trisomy 18), both of which are negetive.That means it is highly unlikely that your child has them.The aim of screening is to decrease your anxiety about your baby. So please be reassured and no worries.
