Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
HI doctor, i received my semen analysis report in which i have seen a range mismatch in slow progressive motility. what those means? is there any problem for that? Motility (within 60 min. ejaculation) a)Rapid Progressive motility 50% Range:25% or more with rapid progression b)Slow Progressive motility 5% Range:50% or more with forward progression c)Non Progressive motility 5% d)Immotility 40%
As per my clinical experience, the semen analysis report is indicative of certain data facts as: @ Rapid progressive motility is subnormal, suggestive of hampered fertility measures @ Slow progressive motility is very low suggestive of significant problems with possible conception criteria
The usual cases have issues with the microtubular functions of the sperms. However, a testicular biopsy is the ultimate answer to this query provided all hormone panel as testosterone, FSH and others have been evaluated thoroughly.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
