General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello Vikas,
I had gone through your query and understand your concern.

Short answer: Suggestive of an infection, rest all is normal.

Detailed answer:

Thank you for asking.

Your semen analysis is normal with regard to sperms. Your sperm count, motility is normal. Normally to conceive, sperm count should be above 20 million/ml and motile sperms should be above 50%. There is nothing abnormal here.

Ph of your semen is mentioned as alkaline. An extremely alkaline semen is suggestive of an infection. Also, there are some pus cells in your semen. But worry not. If it is an infection, then it's a good news for you. An infection can be treated completely.

It's not possible for me to tell conclusively as this is the reason for failure to conceive. But I can assure you that your semen analysis is normal.

I suggest you to consult your treating doctor for further evaluation and treatment.

Take it easy. There is no reason to feel guilty. You and your wife is not at all responsible for all these. There are many reasons for not being able to concieve. Sometimes all it needs is a simple counselling. Even if there is some problem with you or your wife, I assure you that it can be managed.

Take care of your wife. Even she will be in the same state of mind. She needs your support.

I wish you good luck.

If need any further information, feel free to contact me. I'll happy to help.

Take care.

Dr.Prathap Kumar
