Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does This T-cell Panel Blood Test Finding Indicate?
My partner had a routine blood test a few months back and it was noted that his wbc was a little higher than it should be so they sent him for another one a few weeks later with a similar result. He then had to do a t cell panel test and his count is 6.1 so now he has to see a haematologist. No-one is telling us what is wrong and we have just been told that it is a 6 month wait to see one.
The elevated white blood cells are commonly related to the presence of an infection in the system. You should do some other examinations to check which is the source of the infection and treat it. I suggest to follow up with your general physician.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
