What Does This Test Result From X-ray Report Indicate?

Hi I had PTB and was already treated and cured in 2004. Now in 2015 my apicolordotic view xray indicates BILATERAL PTB WITH FIBROTIC COMPONENTS, APICES, MORE ON THE RIGHT ACTIVITY UNDETERMINED,PLEASE CORRELATE CLINICALLY Please help me understand what this means. I m currently applying for a night job as a trainer in a BPO (business process-oriented) company. Thanks

Hi,

All these presentations on your X-ray may be due to healed signs of old tubercular lesions. Usually tubercular cavities heal by fibrosis and hence present as fibrosis in X-ray. Still, in some cases, recurrence of tubercular infection can not be ruled out even after completing a course of anti-tubercular regime. Hence, if in doubt, about diagnosis, then further investigations like ESR, sputum examination for AFB, CB NATT sputum etc., may be needed to confirm or rule out the presence of tuberculosis.
