What Does This Test Result Of Blood And Urine Indicate?

My 15 year old son was admitted to ER (Now released) for signs of appendicitis - Vomiting, high fever (103) body shakes, cold, right abdomen pain - entire body was sore but abdomen pain was low and after a couple of hours subsided. Urine and bloodwork test...High RBC in Urine (7) and High WBC (17.3) and High Bilirubin ( .3~ 1.5 ~ 436) Since the abdomen pain subsided they did not feel a scan was necessary and sent us home with directions to come back if symptoms get worse - Should these high levels be a cause for concern?

Hi
Based on your query and findings my opinion is
1. RBCs are usually not seen in urine. Its presence indicates urinary tract infection/ hemolysis/ stones more commonly.
2. WBC count is also significant as they are present in small numbers.
3. Since both RBC and WBC counts are high it is probably urinary tract infection.
4. You can get a urine culture sensitivity done to confirm it.
Hope this helps
Regards
