Hi I am almost a 38 years old female. I ve had a transveginal scan sound and the results showed: The uterus is retroverted with irregular contour and heterogenous echo patterns measuring 5.98x4.77x5.75 cm. The cervix measures 2.88x2.94x2.74cm, with homogeneous stroma and distinct endocervical canal. There are at least 2 well- circumscribed heterogenous masses seen: M1: 2.12x2.53.2.40cm posterior midcorpus, intramural and M2: 1.88x2.40x2.0 cm, anterior fundal , intramural. The endometrium is Heterogeneous measuring 0.82cm with intact subendometrial halo. The right ovary measures 2.37x 1.43x1.62cm left Ovary measures 2.44x1.79x1.76cm. There are no adnexal masses seen. There is no free fluid in cul de sac. Impression: Multiple small myoma uteri, intramural. Menstral Phase Endometrium Normal ovaries. I was diagnosed to have one ovary removed. and with surgery at least 1 month bed rest. can you please advise me as I want to know if surgery is my only choice. regards Nancy
The transvaginal ultrasound report shows both ovaries are anatomically normal and there is no indication to undergo oophorectomy (removal of ovary). The uterus has multiple fibroids. Depending on the severity of your symptoms and response to medications, you may need a Hysterectomy for the management of the fibroids.
