What Does This Ultrasound Of Abdomen And Urine RE In A 8 Year Old Indicate?

Hello Dr.My child is 8 years old girl.She got pain in abdomen for a month and continuous pain for 7 days now.When I consult with Pediatrician, she suggested to do Ultrasound and Urine RE.At the ultrasound result, it shows bilateral mild hydronephrosis and pelvicalyceal dilatation.Both kidneys are normal in size & contour with normal cortical echogenicity, no stones.At Urine RE result, Protein is trace & 10mg/dl, Urobilinogen is 0.1mg/dl, Pus cell is 0-2/HPF, Epithelial Cell is 1-2/HPF. the others are good.Could you please kindly suggest me how should I do and proceed?I am worried about my daughter.What treatment should she take? Hello,

The ultrasound is suggestive of a blockage in the urethra or at the level of the bladder causing a back pressure that has made her kidneys expand
- You should visit a urologist, who will be able to perform more specialized tests to help identify the exact cause of obstruction
- The diagnosis will then dictate the required treatment
