Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am seeing a GI doctor for IBS type symptoms and am getting an upper/lower GI next week. My blood work came back and have "slightly elevated LFTs". Today, he performed an ultrasound of liver and spleen. Unofficial result from the tech is that normal size, no masses, somewhat coarse texture.
HI. Thanks for your query. The significance of the coarse ecotexture means this can be due to following things: -Fat deposition in the liver called fatty infiltration. -Amoebic hepatitis -Hepatitis of some cause like viral.
This is not suggestive of any cancer, be assured about it. Get the endoscopies done , if they too are normal then only we can say this is IBS. Elevated LFTs will get OK with proper treatment. Please post the reports and symptoms in details for me to help you more.
