What Does This Ultrasound Report And CT Scan Indicate?

I'm 33 years old. Have had pain on my lower left abdomen for close to a year. Got a CT scan and then an ultrasound.. the results read : There is a hypoechoic structure with peripheral septations located at the left adnexa. This appears to be within ovary and measures 7.6 x 8.2 , 4.9 cm. There also appears to be a small anechoic subcentimeter left ovarian follicle. No fluied a the left adnexa. Impression: left adnexal complex 8.2cm structure may represent endometrioma or hemorrhagic cyst. MRI or surgical evaluation recommended for further characterization. Is ovarian cancer a possibility?
Waiting to see a specialist but in the mean time should I be at ease? or ...

Dear lady,
Pls be absolutely at ease, coz its NOT CANCER.. Now the typical description you give is of endometrioma/ a hemorrhagic cyst. In case of endometrioma, a small amt of endomatrial tissue is embedded in the ovary, which bleeds and pains. Other possibility is a hemorrhagic cyst, i.e., when the ovulation happened, instead of ova bursting open, it bursted into a small cyst. What you are having is actually an ineffective ovulation. You must certainly contact a gynaec, who would most likely put you on a course of oral contraceptives for a few months which should set your cycle right and ovulation going. Thats all. Get well soon!
