my mother had done for the ultrasound test, these all the result about her ultrasound , what does exactly these means? EXAMINATION : ULTRASOUND OF THE ANTERIOR NECK FINDINGS: RIGHT THROID: 1.38X3.12X1.93cm VOLUME :4.36 CC LEFT THYROID: 1.29X3.43X1.61CM VOLUME: 3.75 CC NORMAL SIZE THYROID LOBES WITH CORASE ECHOPATTERNS. A SOLITARY ISOECHOIC NODULE IS NOTED ON THE SUPERIOR SEGMENT OF THE RIGHT LOBE MEASURING 1.21X0.95 CM. IN DIAMETER. A CYSTIC NODULE IS ALSO EVIDENT ON THE ISTHMUS MEASURING 2.25 X 0.75CM. No GRADED COMPRESSION NOTED ON PROBE PALPATION. NECK MUSCLE COMPARTMENT ARE NORMAL. INTACT VASCULAR CHANNELS --- IMPRESSION: 1. SOLITARYISOECHOIC NODULE. RIGHT LOBE 2. CYSTIC NODULE,ISTHMUS REGION 3. CONCURRENT CORTICAL DISEASE -SUGGEST BIOPSY OF THE NODULES FOR FURTHER EVALUATION.
Hello... You should get your thyroid functions done and also a thyroid scan to determine whether these are functioning or non functioning nodules. Also its better you proceed with the biopsy of the nodules.
