General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* As per my surgical experience, the 1 cm fluid collection at scar region
post surgery indicates serous or purulent collection.

Usually this requires

- specific antibiotics as cephalexin, mox clav or others as per the
clinician choice and common pathogens susceptibility
- proper sterile care of the overlying skin
- regular follow up with doc as suggested on periodic basis for its
evaluation and regression pattern

* In some cases, if antibiotics do not respond, you may require an
incision and drainage procedure for the collection and pus culture
later on.

In summary, you should not neglect it to resolve on its own and must be vigilant to take care of it.

Wish you best recovery.
Thanks.
Regards.
