What Does This Ultrasound Report Of Abdomen Specify?
Pls I am 23yrs old,my test result says normal sized non gravid uterus in anteverted position measuring about 6.2 * 3.4 * 4.4cm in size and about 47.7cm3 by volume. The endometrial plate is 5.8mm thick and proliferative in appearance. No gestational say was seen in it. The myometrium is homogenous without any mass distortion.the ovaries are enlarged and contains multiple small follicles each.the ovaries measured about 4.8 * 2.5cm(RT) and 4.7 * 2.2cm(LT).no fluid collection in the pouch of Douglas. Pls what does this mean?? am I at any risk? Am I infertile? Cos I can have menstrual abnormalities.
The possible cause could be an abnormality with your ovaries resulting in mean trial irregularities and all the other symptoms you are experiencing. Further evaluation will be required but as far as I know medications like birth control pills, metformin, etc; should help. Also try to lose weight if you are overweight and your cycle should regularize.
Please discuss with your doctor about a concrete diagnosis and treatment to be initiated accordingly. There should not be any problem with your fertility and you are not infertile and should not be in the future.
Best wishes
