Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does This Ultrasound Report Of Kidney Indicate?
My father is 61 yrs old. He got his usg done and it is detected that there are multiple small cortical cysts noted in right kidney and one simple cortical cyst (18mm * 14mm) noted at mid pole of left kidney. No calcular disease noted. No hydronephrotic changes detected. It is also mentioned that he is suffering from grade 1 prostatomegaly and his prostate measures 48mm*38mm*33mm and weight could be around 32 gms. My question is that is the detected symptoms fatal? Are they curable by medicine? Please do answer.
Welcome to healthcaremagic.com. Sorry that you are concerned about the USG report. From reading it, NO I do not see anything that is fatal, what has been found is what we call incidental findings, most men if/and when they live long enough will have enlarging prostates and do treatment is warranted unless he has symptoms like urinary obstruction from BPH (Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy), for the current moment I would not worry so much. I hope this helps. Thanks and good luck.
