What Does This Ultrasound Report Of Leg And CT Scan Of Lungs Indicate?

I was in the ER last night with a heart rate of 145. And high blood pressure. 170/100. I had pain in right leg and shortness of breath. They did an ultrasound of my right leg and a ct scan of my lungs for possible Dvt. Or Pe. Results were negative. They put me on Metoprolol 25mg twice daily. I am now having a Sharp pain in my left leg that tends to be in rhythm with my heart. Locatedvcalf area 4 " below my knee. Should I go back in and have them do an ultrasound on my left leg?

Welcome to health care magic.

1.If you have severe leg pain with increased blood pressure you may need to see the ER as soon as possible.
2.With increased blood pressure and chest pain / breathing difficulty deep vein thrombosis is suspected.
3.If ultrasound and CT scan gives negative report then the pain can be related to the spinal issues.
4.Lumbar spine degenerative changes with nerve compression does gives radiating pain to the lower limbs.
5.You need to visit ER and get generalised checkup, vitals, and need to stabilise the underlying medical conditions and evaluate the cause.

Good luck.

General & Family Physician Dr. Jose Ignacio Artero Munoz's  Response
Hello.Pain, increased diameter of the leg, redness, local heat, hardening are signs of DVT.The most sensitive test to rule out DVT is Ultrasound Doppler.
I recommend you go back to the ER for examination and, perhaps, repeat Doppler Ultrasound if the doctor deems it appropiate.
I wish you good health.
