What Does This Ultrasound Report Of Thyroid Gland Signify?
I had an ultrasound of my thyroid and am looking for an interpretation. Hoping someone can help. The right thyroid gland is heterogeneous. There is 0.4 cm hypoechoic lesion in the right thyroid lobe There is a large, complex area in the midpole measuring 1.9 x 1.9 x 1.5 cm. There is increased vascularity in this larger nodule. 1. Large hypervascular nodule in the left lobe of thyroid as described above. Any nodule or mass more than 1 cm in size needs to be closely followed. 2. Small 0.4 cm nodule in the right thyroid lobe. Can anyone help interpret this? Some research showed that this could be a simple colloid nodule. Is this correct?

Hi, It might not be simple too. You need radioactive studies and maybe a aspiration biopsy of the same to confirm the diagnosis. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
