What Does This Ultrasound Result For Delay In Periods Indicate?

33 yr old female. Just had my fourth child nine months ago have not had a period cycle in 19 months. Ultrasound shows uterus is heterogeneous enlarged with a heterogeneous endometrial strip of 7 mm. Right lower abdomen pain, negative for pregnancy, negative for infection or bacteria. What could be the cause of this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Delayed bleeding can be due to different causes such as:(1) emotional stress or illness

(2)physical illness

(3)polycystic ovarian syndrome

(4)thyroid disease

(5)high levels of the prolactin hormone

(6)side effect of medication

Since you already had an ultrasound (which is not providing a cause), you may need blood tests to determine the cause.
Eg thyroid tests, prolactin,

I hope this helps
