What Does This Ultrasound Scan Finding Of Abdomen Indicate?

Good Day! I am diagnosed of Hepatomegaly with moderate fatty changes, mulitple cholelithiases with no signs of cholectystitis and mild splenomegaly. I am 30 years old, I used to drink a lot way back when I was 22 to 27 years old but now, I drink occasionally. Also, I am fond of eating fatty foods. I know I need to stop this bad habit. I would like to know if my condition is already hard to be cured or I can still be healthy in the future? Thank you.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Hepatomegaly is enlargement of liver, which has happened due to fatty changes caused by alcohol intake. For this, you need to stop alcohol completely to make yourself in better condition, otherwise you will land up in fatty liver followed by irreversible changes leading to cirrhosis of liver.
Multiple cholelitiasis is presence of multiple gall stones caused due to increased intake of fatty diet. For this, you need to undergo operation called cholecystectomy, which now a days performed by laparoscopy. You need to contact Surgeon in this regard for proper management.
Your mild spleenomegaly could be due to anaemia associated with your conditions. Intake of iron capsules will help you to overcome this.
You can maintain good health if you strictly leave all bad habits what you have realised and lead a healthy lifestyle.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
