What Does This Ultrasound Test Result Of Uterus For Pain During Periods Indicate?

I have been having problems with painful periods I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2005. I m 46 and I have still been having painful periods even on birth control pills. I had an ultrasound in 2012 and it revealed an intrauterine fibroid of 9mm which I know is extremely small but I just had another ultrasound last week and it is now 17mm so it is growing. could this be the cause of painful period.

Hello
I have gone through your question and understand your concern. Both fibroids and endometriosis can cause painful, heavy menstrual bleeding. The treatment for both the causes includes medication and surgical methods, medication like hormone containing drugs are effective in both the cases. Apart from these other measures like ablation (cryo/radio waves used to destroy fibroid or endometrial tissue with causing harm to normal tissue) can also be considered.
Hope your concern is answered. Thank you.
