. Thanks for raising your concern on this platform and following is the interpretation of urinalysis:
1. presence of pus cells ans
RBC in urine definitely suggests presence of disease which commonly arise from an inflammatory disease of
urinary tract [either acute or chronic].
2. Amorphous urates crystals are commonly found in the urine and usually develop if the urine is refrigerated and does not help in any diagnosis or alter the course of the treatment.
3.presence of mucus is normal/common in urine since it is present in penis and
urethra of male and thus are not reported as abnormal from a urinalysis report, if in subsequent examination they are in excess it could indicate infection or inflammation of urinary tract.
4. Since you have not mentioned any features arising from such situation thus definite diagnosis will depend on the presence or absence of associated symptoms, so it is wise to check with an
Urologist for better understanding of the report.
5. It is completely normal to have this urinalysis, only thing to watch out for is any ongoing inflammatory process in urinary tract for which serial urinalysis and even
ultrasonography can be taken.
6. Cotrimoxazole contains [ Trimethoprin 80 mg and
Sulphamethoxazole 400 mg] and is given in acute uncomplicated UTI and preferably take it with some food or drink to minimize gastrointestinal disturbances
