What Does This Urinalysis Result For UTI Indicate?
Hi Dr. Can you please help me interpret my urinalysis results?Macroscopic:Physical: Color- yellow, Transparency- slightly turbid, Reaction- 6.0, Specific Gravity- 1.030,Chemical: Albumin- trace, Sugar- negative,Microscopic:Cells: RBC- 2-3/hpf, Pus Cells- 55-60/hpf, Bacteria- few, Mucus Thread- rare, Epithelial Cells- moderate,Crystals: Amorphous Urates- rare,Last Jan, I was diagnosed with UTI. And recently, I m experiencing the same symptoms; having to pee a lot and as soon as it stops it hurts, also my sides hurt, and I feel bloated mostly at night. Is this a recurrence of UTI? And what medicine can you prescribe?Thanks a lot.

Hi..You are most likely suffering from recurrent UGH..you need to check your diabetic status and get ultrasound done to rule out renal stone...Your Urine analysis shows lot of pus cells indicating infection ...You have to take antibiotic for atleast a week...First get a urine culture done before starting on any antibiotic..You can take ciprofloxacin or ofloxacin or nitrofurantoin ...maintain adequate intake of oral fluids ...
