What Does This Urine Analysis Report During Pregnancy Indicate?
hi. im 7 and a half months pregnant and had my urine checked. please help me analize the result of my urinalysis. color: yellow, transparency: slightly cloudy, pH: 6.0, sugar: negative, albumin: trace, pus: 5-8/hpf, epithelial cells: +, bacteria: ++. thanks
The urine is slightly clody, albumin is trace and shows pus cells 5-8/hpf with bacteria ++. This clearly indicates that you are having urinary infection. Moreover you have epithelial cells also in the urine indicating the infection is in the higher organs of urinary tract also like kidney. I would advice you to take one more tset on your urine and that is urine culture and sensitivity. This test will tell you what are the infective organisms and they can be irradicated by which antibiotics. Particularly in pregnancy this test is so important because there are some antibiotics which are not safe for the growing foetus in the womb. After the culture and sensitivity test, obstetrician will choose the antibiotics which is effective and at the same time safe for the mother and foetus. Drink plenty of water along with the other treatment. Please do not ignore this infection lest it can lead to high blood pressure during pregnancy and also it has bad long term effects. Get it treated effectively, safely and in time.
