hello doctor, I had my scanning done yesterday, & the report mentioned as below:- Uterus is anteberted & gravid. an intrauterine gestational sac measuring1.6*1.1*1.3cm is seen towards the left cornu. there is good decidual reaction. no fetal node is seen at present. this corresponds to gestational age of about 5 weeks by sac size. no evidence of subchorionic haematoma seen. internal OS closed. no adnexal mass lesions are seen. no. corpus luteal cyst seen. Now by consultant doctor is telling to abort the baby as it is unhealthy baby. Kindly reccomend

Hi:
According to the history given by you its seems that you have blighted ovum which means gestational sac present but without the embryo. But as we know we can see the embryo by the 6 weeks also. You must repeat your transvaginal ultrasound at 6 weeks to see if fetal pole still absent or present.
If it is absent at 6 weeks also then you should definitely think about what your gynecologist told you. As this kind of babies are generally called as non viable and pregnancy will not be fruitful.
