What Does This Uterus Ultrasound Test Result Indicate?

Hi, my friend had an ultra sound don t yesterday and was told that her uterus appears bulky and heterogeneous and its dimensions are 28x65x55mm and also that the myometrium appears coarse in echotexture. Suggestive of the presence of adenomyosis and a 6mm endometrium seen. What does all that mean and what her chances of getting pregnant are? and can this problem be reversed for good so that she can live a normal and pain free life??? I ask on her behalf and thank you in advance

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to hcm
Bulky uterus with adenomyosis is one of the most common lesion seen in women. Its hormonally related and causes pain with irregular and heavy menstrual bleeding.she can be treated initially with hormones if it's not responsive then curatage of endometrium can be done. I advice you to consult gynaecologist and discuss regarding the above.

Thank you
