What Does This X-ray Report Indicate?

Hi. May I ask what does it mean if the xray result says Suspicious densities are noted in the right apex. Suggest apicolordotic view for further evaluation. The rest of the lung fields shows no active parwnchymal infiltrates ? Dies this densitiws in xray result will disappear? Thanks

Hi & Welcome.
Incomplete data like age, gender, purpose of doing chest x-ray, any medical issue or symptoms???

The chest x ray findings are suggestive of chronic infection like tuberculosis until proved otherwise.

Apex portion of the lungs is overshadowed by bony ribs and clavicle so it hinders the apical portion findings. In order to have a close look the radiologists usually advise apicolordotic view for confirmation of the suspicious densities.

If you have cough for more than 2 weeks associated with evening rise of temperature and night sweats with loss of appetite and weight you most probably might be having tuberculosis which also needs to be confirmed by certain lab tests such as CBC, ESR, sputum for AFB or PCR.

These densities will disappear after taking treatment for at least 6-9 months depending upon the severity.
