Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
PROCEDURE: RADIOGRAPH OF THE THORACIC SPINE, 3V COMPARISON: PET/CT Sansum/CCSB, NM, PET/CT+CT CHEST W/C, 5/20/2015, 13:0.4 INDICATIONS: CANCER FOLLOWUP FINDINGS/CONCLUSION: Mild multilevel endplate degenerative changes. A small sclerotic focus is noted in the T9 vertebral corpus, a stable finding. There is mild anterior wedging at T8 which appears new when compared with the limited CT from the recent PET scan. Pacemaker leads and mild cardiomegaly. Atherosclerotic calcific lesions of the aortic arch.
As per my clinical experience, the PET CT report indicates sclerotic focus in T9 which can be from: - Unresponsiveness to current therapy - Remission phase of the cancer - Calcium homeostasis disturbances - Phosphate or oxalate metabolic issues - Alkaline phosphatase activities
However, a clinical co relation with the current symptoms are of paramount importance.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
