What Does Throat Discomfort Along With Fatigue And Breathing Difficulty Indicate?

Hi, my husband has been experiencing some throat discomfort along with fatigue and loss of breath when he s working or working out. He is 46 years old, in great shape and the medication that he tried for acid reflux gives some relief however, he feels like there is something always in his throat and it is irritated?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The sensation of having something in throat , in reflux patient, may be a symptom of chronic faringitis from reflux disease. In this case he must continue the treatment for reflux.
However, you shouldn't ignore these symptoms, even if you think he is in great shape, in my opinion he must consult a cardiologist, to exclude cardiac origin of the problem or perform a neck ultrasound to check for possible local compression causes.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
