What Does Throat Pain With White Coating On Tongue Indicate?

My 3.5 yr old daughter has a dry cough, hoarse voice, stuffy nose . She told me her throat hurts. I looked inside her mouth and her tongue had a white coating. Low-grade temp of 99.4. Although 2 weeks ago, she had temp of 102 for about 3 days, that was relieved with Motrin. (No other symptoms at that time.)

Hi,
There are many causes that lead to such symptoms like common cold, streptococcus throat infection, candida infection, viral pharyngitis, tonsillitis, acute sinusitis, acute laryngitis etc. You need proper diagnosis for further management so consult an ENT specialist who will guide you. some test should be done like throat swab culture and sensitivity, total blood count, local examination of tonsil and naso pharynx. Ask her to take adequate rest, give her plenty of lukewarm water to drink to prevent dehydration.
Take care of her, bye.
