Hello,

As per your query, you have symptoms of tight sensation in the throat after smoking which is due to damage of cilia which causes severe throat pain and tightness/dryness in throat.

I would suggest you to stop smoking. Keep yourself rehydrated with plenty of water and fluids. Take antibiotics such as Augmentin for 5 days. Do warm saline gargles on daily basis.

Use betadine rinses to clear throat. Gargling with silver hydrosol will help you a lot. Avoid taking sharp, spicy food and extreme cold substances. Visit ENT specialist once if it keeps on hurting and go for laryngoscopy to examine inner mucosa.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
