What Does Tightness In Stomach During Pregnancy Indicate?

38bweeks pregnant I still feel like he is very higher up than lower down, really tight up the top. My due date is the 19th oct by my period but apparently 11th by my scans. Which date is usually more accurate ? And the tightness of my belly does this mean I am close ? No pain

Hello and thank you for visiting our site.

In a pregnancy where the baby feels "higher up" and "tight up to the top" there should be concern about fetal position. Some babies are NOT head down and this is important to know before you go into labor. This is easily sorted out with an ultrasound. Second, the most accurate date is by ultrasound in the first trimester. While we have traditionally dated pregnancies based on your last menstrual period, if an ultrasound in the first trimester disagrees with the LMP by more than 5-7 days, then we go with the ultrasound determined date.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
