What Does Timely Difficulty In Breathing Indicate?

Hi, I m a fourteen year old girl, and I m really scared. Last night I had troubles breathing and other problems I don t know how to explain, and got all most no sleep all because if it. I woke up in the morning and I was fine. Now, it s about 10 o clock and I m having problems again. I m so tired but I m afraid to sleep. Im really scared and don t know what to do.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation.
Recurrent breathing difficulty in young patient is seen either due to asthma or anxiety.
So we need to first rule out asthma.
So get done chest x ray and PFT (pulmonary function test) to rule out asthma.
If both are normal then no need to worry for asthma, you are having mostly anxiety related symptoms.
So avoid stress and tension.
Be relax and calm.
Consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
