What Does Tingling Sensation In The Left Arm Indicate?
Hi, My husband was at the Kaiser ER all afternoon with a tingling in his entire left arm; he described it as the feeling when you hit your funny bone or your arm falls asleep, but this has lasted several hours. After 2 CT scans (1 with contrast) they determined no stroke, but think it was a TIA. I thought TIA symptoms did not last for hours. Could it be a pinched nerve or some other nerve damage? We will follow-up with his primary dr. on Monday a.m. Thanks, Karen
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes, it can be a "pinched" nerve due to cervical herniated disc. The best test to diagnose this is cervical RMI. Treatment in this case consists in several exercises of the neck, rest and antiinflamatory medications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
