Hello,
As per your clinical history is concerned, please follow like this:
1) Do a clinical examination by your Doctor [Neurologist]and to know current status do an
MRI scan and [Myelogram].
2) Discuss with your Doctor prescription medications [gabapentin],[oxycodone-acetaminophen] for pain.
3) Discuss [
Cortisone injections] if there is swelling present and consult with physio for heat and
cold therapy.
Do lifestyle modifications such as:
1) Do exercise regularly. Strengthening the trunk muscles helps stabilize and support the spine.
2) Maintain good posture. Good posture reduces the pressure on your spine and disks. Keep your back straight and aligned, particularly when sitting for long periods. Lift heavy objects properly, making your legs, not your back.
3) Maintain a healthy weight.
Excess weight puts more pressure on the spine and disks, making them more susceptible to herniation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
