What Does Tingling Sensation On The Left Leg Indicate?

Yes Sir At age 72 I just noticed for the 1st time ever, a very, very light tingling sensation that runs up and down the outer skin left on the side of the left leg between the knee and the area 1 foot above it. It s painless and minor at this point. B.P. is 118/ 63 and rate of 60. No infirmaties, however I have just fully covered from a fall onto the taps in the bathtub on Sept 4, striking the left back and breaking two ribs. A 3 foot bath mat is now in place. Is there a possibility of early shingles do you think?

Hello dear. I read your query and I understand your concern. It looks you are suffering from a peripheral neuropathy due to the trauma you had. Treatment for it is. 1Pain relievers. Over-the-counter pain medications, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, can relieve mild symptoms.
2.Anti-seizure medications. Medications such as gabapentin (Gralise, Neurontin) and pregabalin (Lyrica), developed to treat epilepsy, may relieve nerve pain.
3.Topical treatments. Capsaicin cream, which contains a substance found in hot peppers, can cause modest improvements in peripheral neuropathy symptoms. Also lidocaine patches help relieve pain .
4.Antidepressants. Certain tricyclic antidepressants, such as amitriptyline, doxepin and nortriptyline (Pamelor), have been found to help relieve pain by interfering with chemical processes in your brain and spinal cord that cause you to feel pain.
Best regards.
