What Does Tube Like Discharge From The Vagina Indicate?

A big piece (about 5cm long and kind of tube-shaped) of skin-like, rubbery weird stuff came out with my tampon. I am on the pill, and tried to skip my period last month by not taking the placebo pills, but just moving straight to the next month. However, that made my next period come a week earlier; I am about four days into it. What is this weird skin thing and is it dangerous? The internet is telling me it s my uterus s lining and I shouldn t be worried. Is this true?
